Cayuga, originally known as Cayuga Springs, is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Delaware County, Oklahoma, United States. It was named for the Cayuga people of the Iroquis, one of the Five Nations, and the word itself has a meaning: “the place where the locusts were taken out.” As of the 2020 census, Cayuga had a population of 160. It was established on the Elk River in the old Seneca Reserve in Indian Territory by Mathias Splitlog and his family in the 1870's. The Cayuga Post Office existed from June 11, 1884, until April 30, 1905.
