The Schnals Valley (German: Schnalstal, Italian: Val Senales) is a scenic side valley of the Vinschgau in South Tyrol, Italy. Most of the valley lies within the municipality of Schnals, while smaller parts near the entrance belong to Naturns and Kastelbell-Tschars.
Key highlights:
- Vernagt-Stausee: A prominent reservoir located within the valley.
- Braunes Bergschaf: A rare local breed of domesticated sheep raised in the area.
- Ötzi the Iceman: In 1991, this well-preserved natural mummy dating from around 3300 BC was discovered on the nearby Schnalstal glacier.
