The Skhalta Cathedral is a mid-13th-century Georgian Orthodox monastery and cathedral church located in Adjara, Georgia. Built as a large hall church, it features preserved fragments of 14th- or 15th-century Paleologian-style wall paintings.
Remarkably, Skhalta is the only medieval church in Adjara that survived both the Ottoman and Soviet periods intact. Reactivated in 1990, it currently serves as an active monastery and the seat of the Georgian Orthodox Bishop of Skhalta.
