entry
Lengwe National Park is a unique wildlife reserve in Malawi, located near Chikwawa and approximately 64 km (40 miles) southwest of Blantyre. Unlike much of Malawi, its topography features open deciduous forests and dense thickets, serving as a sanctuary for the reclusive Nyala antelope.
Wildlife & Visiting
- Animals: Home to giraffes, spotted hyenas, leopards, warthogs, kudus, impalas, Samango monkeys, Cape buffaloes, and suni.
- Birdlife: A haven for birdwatchers, featuring shrikes, rollers, bee-eaters, and the Yellow-spotted nicator.
- Facilities: Visitors can stay at Nyala Lodge, operated by Jambo Africa Ltd.
Due to the hot and dry climate, man-made water holes have been constructed throughout the park to support its diverse animal population.
