The Chapelle du Rosaire de Vence (often known as the Matisse Chapel) is a small Catholic chapel located in Vence on the French Riviera, dedicated to the Dominican Order.
Built and decorated between 1947 and 1951 under a plan devised by artist Henri Matisse, it houses a number of his original works and was regarded by Matisse himself as his ultimate masterpiece. While its simple white exterior draws varied reactions, many consider it one of the great religious structures of the 20th century.
